I've never heard of this program before encountering this game. With macOS Sonoma, work and play on your Mac are even more powerful. Anyway, you can play a version of it now on something called Lucy Opendev. You can play a.beta? Alpha? I'm not sure what stage this is in ATM. It's also a little more restrictive with how many cities you can build.
